Byron Mann (short bio)
Born in Hong Kong, early January, 1966.
Real name Byron Chan.
He's the youngest of three brothers, one of which is an investment banker and the other a heart surgeon.
Being born in Hong Kong, he of course speaks fluent Cantonese, and did not need to be dubbed in Crying Freeman.
He was active in high school and community theatre as both an actor and a writer.
He moved to California to study philosophy at UCLA, and while there, his interest in acting was rekindled.
Back in Hong Kong again, he attended law school, but he also got an acting role in "Last Flight Out".
Afterwards, he returned to Los Angeles, passed the California Bar and studied acting on the side. One of his teachers was Ken Lerner - Byron has given him a very nice testimonial.
Byron Mann first came to the attention of US audiences with an appearance as a gifted student interviewed by "Murphy Brown" in 1993.
